To be eligible to attend the 26th World Scout Jamboree as a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Contingent, you must fit into one of the below participant categories and meet the respective criteria.
Were you born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013? Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? We’re looking for enthusiastic Scouts who live by our scouting values and are eager to represent their country on the world stage. You’ll spend 24 action-packed days forming lifelong friendships, experiencing new cultures, and taking part in an unforgettable journey.
To join our contingent as a youth participant, you need to:
Be born after 30 July 2009 and not later than 30 July 2013
Be an invested member of Scouts Aotearoa
Have a good level of fitness because the World Scout Jamboree site is very large and you could be walking 10+ km a day
Be recommended as suitable to attend by your Scout/Venturer Leader and Group Leader.
Are you 18 or older and passionate about making a difference? As a Patrol Kaiārahi, you’ll be supporting a group of nine youth participants, helping them embrace the Jamboree’s theme: Bravely. You will empower youth by creating environments where young people feel supported, valued, and capable of making a positive impact for their Jamboree experience. This is an incredibly fun, exciting, and rewarding experience.

Be born on or before 30 July 2009
Be an invested member of Scouts Aotearoa
Have a good level of fitness because the World Scout Jamboree site is very large and you could be walking 10+ km a day
Be recommended as suitable to attend by your Group Leader or next role up from you
Be selected by the Contingent Management Team.

The IST is the backbone of the Jamboree. If you're 18+ and excited to help bring this global event to life, this role is for you. As an IST member, you'll choose a position that aligns with your skills and interests. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something truly meaningful—supporting the Jamboree while gaining valuable experiences and making friends for life.
To join our contingent as an IST member, you need to:
Be born on or before 30 July 2009
Be an invested member of Scouts Aotearoa. If you have been a member until recently but are currently unable to be a member through temporary circumstances, feel free to get in touch and we can advise you more specifically on your situation.
Have a good level of fitness because the World Scout Jamboree site is very large and you could be walking 10+ km a day
Be recommended as suitable to attend by your Group Leader or next role up from you
Be selected by the Contingent Management Team within the quota prescribed by the Jamboree Organising Committee for the number of IST we can take.
